After an Eastern Split that saw them post a so-so 4-5 record after a 3-1 start, no less, the East Toronto smash have decided to drop Daiho Ozawa and add Darrin Harnandan-Wang. Ozawa, who was selected 31st overall in the 2024 draft, didn’t see any action in the Eastern Split. Harnandan-Wang tried out at the Central qualifier earlier this year, where he posted a 7-3 won-lost record in 10 doubles games. His team’s points for and against were pretty good, with 147 for and only 98 against.
The move should bolster an already strong line-up that includes Dalbir Bhandal and Nathan Choi, along with Christina Chin and Kim Layton on the women’s side. At 22, Harnandan-Wang is also eight years younger than 30-year-old Choi and 10 less than 32-year-old Bhandal.
