Vancouver Rush Joins Local Sports Legends for Pickleball Charity Challenge

The Vancouver Rush is excited to announce our involvement in the upcoming Pickleball Charity Challenge: Celebrity Edition, hosted by the BC Lions Alumni Association in Richmond, BC. As pickleball continues to gain momentum across Canada, this event is set to be a memorable collaboration of sports and community spirit, aimed at making a difference for local charities.

On April 9th, the Rush took part in a spirited practice session at the Pacific PB Center in Richmond, BC. Our alumni joined forces with an impressive roster of sports veterans from various prestigious clubs, including Canucks Alumni Nathan LaFayette, BJ MacDonald, Dean Moore, and John Craighead, BC Lions Alumni Mike Crumb, Sean Millington, Tommy Europe, inaugural female CFL coach Tanya Henderson, and Dr. Sean Graham, as well as Whitecaps Alumni Bobby Lenarduzzi and Carl Valentine. This diverse and skilled lineup came together to share experiences, brush up on skills, and prepare for the upcoming challenge, with our Rush alumni stepping up as diligent coaches during the session.

The main event is set to make history on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at the elite Richmond Country Club. Teams comprising Vancouver’s iconic athletes and pickleball enthusiasts will take to the courts to raise funds for impactful causes, including Canuck’s Place, Heads Up Guys, Rick’s Heart Foundation, and the Whitecaps’ charity of choice.

Not only will this event offer a chance to witness compelling pickleball matchups, but it also provides an incredible opportunity for sponsors and attendees to meet local sports legends, professional pickleball players, and other celebrities over a delectable brunch. A key highlight? The interactive element allows attendees to play pickleball alongside alumni players, forming unforgettable connections through sport.

As proud participants, the Vancouver Rush is thrilled to be part of an event that not only celebrates the love of pickleball but also contributes to meaningful community efforts. Join us for a day of excitement, camaraderie, and charity at this year’s Pickleball Charity Challenge.
