The Smash Academy Is Here

The Smash Academy Is Here: Building the Future of Pickleball in the Georgian Triangle

On December 16th, something awesome happened at Smash Pickleball Collingwood.

The Smash Academy logo went up on the wall by courts 5 and 6. It’s not just branding, it’s a statement. The Academy is now the centerpiece of Smash Collingwood’s strategy to give the Georgian Triangle pickleball community every opportunity to elevate their game, from technical fundamentals to strategic mastery.

This is about building something that lasts.

The Academy: What We’ve Built So Far

While we’re still operating at reduced capacity as we await the completion of five new courts, the Academy has already made an impact.

Youth Programming
In November, we launched our fall youth program and saw 38 young players, ranging from 6 to 17 years old, step onto the courts. Watching kids that young discover pickleball and start developing skills is exactly what this is about: building the next generation.

Smash Mentoring Drill Sessions & Drill with Dyl
We introduced structured drilling sessions in mid-November, and they’ve sold out since launch. The demand is real. Players want quality coaching, structured development, and a pathway to improvement. We’re delivering it.

The Touring Pro Series
In October, we kicked off the Touring Pro Series with Eric Ah-Yuen, Head Coach of Team Canada. Next week, we’re hosting four professional women—two from the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and two from the Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL)—for two days of clinics.

This is the level of access we’re building: pros on the court, teaching, drilling, and competing alongside community players.

What’s Coming in 2026

The slow rollout continues as we wait for the new courts, but here’s what’s launching:

Youth Programming
Winter Program: January 12 – February 9

All youth programs will be held on Mondays. Enrollment is open now.

Spring Launch: The Road to the CNPL
This is the big one. For youth players who want to take their game to an elite level, we’re launching a program designed to develop the next generation of Canadian professional pickleball players. This isn’t recreational. This is competitive, high-performance training for kids who are serious about the sport.

If your child dreams of playing in the CNPL one day, this is the program.

Smash Mentoring Drill Sessions

Starting January 5th:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 10:00am – 11:00am & 11:00am – 12:00pm
  • Thursday: 8:00am – 9:00am & 9:00am – 10:00am

These sessions are designed for players who want structured, mentored drilling with clear skill progression. Expect to work. Expect to improve.

Drill with Dyl & Private Lessons
Continuing on Friday and Saturday mornings.

Private lessons offer personalized coaching for players who want one-on-one attention to refine specific aspects of their game.

Touring Pro Series
The 2026 schedule will be announced in January. Expect more elite-level clinics, demonstrations, and opportunities to learn from the best players in Canada and beyond.

Why This Matters

The Smash Academy isn’t just about offering lessons. It’s about creating a complete development ecosystem.

From youth programs that introduce the sport to 6-year-olds, to elite training that prepares teenagers for professional competition, to adult drilling sessions that help recreational players compete at higher levels, to Touring Pro Series events that bring world-class instruction to the Georgian Triangle—this is the full spectrum of pickleball development.

And it’s all happening in Collingwood.

The Road Ahead

As the five new courts come online, the Academy will expand. More programming. More capacity. More opportunities for players at every level to train, compete, and improve.

But even now, with a slow rollout, the demand is clear. Sessions are selling out. Youth programs are filling up. The Touring Pro Series is bringing elite talent to town. The community is ready.

The Smash Academy is here. And it’s just getting started.
