It’s official: The GOOD Games are heading West.
Canada’s biggest festival of sport, play, and community is expanding into Calgary, taking over the BMO Centre from February 13-15, 2026 as part of Chinook Blast, Calgary’s winter festival. And for the first time, pickleball is taking center stage with the inaugural GOOD Games Calgary Winter Pickleball Cup.
What Are The GOOD Games?
If you’ve followed the CNPL schedule, you’ve seen references to GOOD Games and wondered what it’s all about.
The GOOD Games is a massive multi-sport event that brings together elite competition, community participation, and festival energy into one unforgettable experience. Think of it as Canada’s version of a regional Olympics, but with food trucks, live music, sport demos, and non-stop action across multiple sports.
In 2024 the CNPL hosted its Central Split at the GOOD Games and in 2025 the CNPL continued that partnership by hosting The GOOD Games pickleball event. The event featured both professional CNPL exhibition and an amateur tournament, creating a unique environment where pros and amateurs competed side-by-side during the same weekend.
The partnership made sense: both organizations are rooted in Guelph, both are passionate about community engagement, and both believe in the power of sport to bring people together.
Commissioner Mike McAninch said it best: “With a shared dedication to promoting active lifestyles and community involvement, CNPL and The GOOD Games unite to bring the best of professional team pickleball to Canada’s premier sports festival.”
Now, that partnership is expanding west and pickleball is leading the charge.
