Eight More Stars Lock In on Deadline Day

The Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL) re-signing deadline came and went, at the end of October 31 with a flurry of activity, as teams across the league secured key pieces for the upcoming C4 season. Eight more players officially re-signed with their respective clubs, bringing clarity and excitement as rosters take shape for what promises to be the most competitive CNPL season yet.

Vancouver Owls Keep Core Intact

The Vancouver Owls made a major statement on deadline day, locking in two critical pieces: Anna Dyachenko and Armaan Jiwa Mawji. Dyachenko, a versatile competitor who is currently representing Canada at the Pickleball World Cup, brings international experience and steady play to the Owls’ women’s lineup. Jiwa Mawji, who dominated the Open Doubles category as part of the league’s top-performing duo alongside Eric Fought and/or Caelan Sampson, returns as a cornerstone of Vancouver’s men’s rotation.

“Anna and Armaan represent the identity of this team,” said the Owls’ front office. “They compete with heart and bring championship-level experience every time they step on the court.”

Toronto United Secures Dynamic Duo

Toronto United made sure to keep their playoff core together, re-signing Max Wild and Jada Bui. Wild, an American standout who finished as the fifth ranked open player in the 2025 league leaders, was instrumental in United’s playoff push with his aggressive style and court awareness. Bui, who also ranked among the league’s elite performers as the number three female, showcased exceptional mixed doubles play and versatility throughout the season. Together, they helped propel United to a second-place finish in the playoffs with 15 games won and a 4-2 match record.

“Max and Jada give us the firepower and chemistry we need to compete for a title,” said United’s management. “Having them both back is essential to our championship aspirations.”

Northern Lights Build for the Future

The Northern Lights secured an experienced veteran in Joel Pelletier and one of the standout rookies in Danielle Boss, both of whom were critical to the team’s impressive third-place playoff finish. Pelletier, a consistent presence in the league leaders rankings in each of the CNPL seasons, anchors the men’s side with his steady play and tactical intelligence. Boss, who went from relative unknown to prove her worth throughout the season, brings quick hands and fearless net play that energized the Lights in their playoff run where they captured 8 games and pushed the champions to the brink.

“Joel and Danielle are proven winners,” said the Lights’ coaching staff. “They know what it takes to compete at the highest level, and we’re thrilled to have them leading us into C4.”

Detroit-Windsor Drive Adds to Rebuild

The Detroit-Windsor Drive continued building on their foundation by re-signing Lexi Debol, a key contributor who was among the most reliable performers for the Drive in 2025. Debol’s athleticism and court coverage make her a vital piece as the Drive look to improve on their playoff appearance and push for a deeper postseason run in C4. Lexi joins Evan Hollinsky as the future of the Drive in 2026.

“Lexi embodies the work ethic and competitive spirit we’re building here,” said the Drive’s staff. “She’s a difference-maker, and having her back gives us confidence as we continue to grow.”

Prairie Pronghorns Retain Star Power

The Prairie Pronghorns locked in Antoaneta Toskova, a Bulgarian-Canadian standout who ranked among the 2025 league leaders (number six ranked female) and was a consistent force throughout the season. Toskova’s all-around game makes her one of the most dynamic players in the league, and her return gives the Pronghorns a proven talent to build around as they aim to bounce back from a challenging playoff showing. From a fifth round pick to the anchor of the new look Pronghorns, Antoaneta ascended the ranks of the CNPL faster than any other player this season.

“Antoaneta is world-class,” said the Pronghorns’ organization. “Her skill level and competitive fire set the tone for our entire team. We’re excited to have her leading us forward.”

The C4 Stage is Set

With these eight deadline day signings joining the eight previously announced re-signings, CNPL rosters are taking shape with a blend of championship experience, emerging stars, and proven competitors. From Jessica Kawamoto and Louis-Charles Amyot (league leaders in 2025), to Ryan Torresin and Jessica Kawamoto’s record-setting mixed doubles partnership, to Evan Hollinsky’s dynamic energy, the foundation for C4 is built on both continuity and star power.

As teams now turn their attention to free agency and the upcoming draft, one thing is clear: the race for the C4 championship is wide open, and every team has locked in key pieces to make their run. The stage is set for the most explosive, competitive, and thrilling CNPL season in league history.
