Rush trade Nathan Choi to Brewers for Christina Chin
The Southwestern Ontario Brewers are excited to announce the acquisition of the Rocky Mountain Rush’s Nathan Choi. In exchange, the Brewers have sent Christina Chin to the Rush.
Choi, who was drafted 21st overall by the Rush, had a great year in 2023, winning Player of the Match on three occasions with logging 312 points for and 270 points against. In his 11 matches last season, he won 15 games and lost seven.
Choi helped the Rush to a first overall finish, with 37 games won against 22 losses, as well as 10 match wins and four match losses. The Rush fared well in the 2023 playoffs, finishing in the top four with a 2-2 record and Choi playing a big part in their run.
Going the other way, is the dynamic and athletic Chin, who acquitted herself quite well during the Eastern and Western Splits, as well as the playoffs.
The 25-year-old was drafted 3rd overall by the Brewers and played in 17 matches in 2023, winning 14 games and losing 20, with 448 points for and 447 against.
In the playoffs, where the Brewers went 1-2 and were eliminated, Chin was integral to a Brewers team that fought hard, including their final round robin loss to Nathan Choi’s Rush. The two teams battled down to the wire in a five-game match.
The trade will no doubt provide a spark to both teams coming into the 2024 season.
