Free Agency Frenzy: Brewers, Drive, and Pronghorns Add to Their Rosters

The CNPL free agency period is coming to a close as three more teams pulled the trigger on impact signings, bringing the total to five free agent acquisitions across the league. The Southwestern Ontario Brewers, Detroit-Windsor Drive, have locked in their third players ahead of the C4 draft, joining the London Smash, Toronto United, and Montreal Lions at maximum pre-draft capacity. The Prairie Pronghorns also locked in their second.

Southwestern Ontario Brewers Add Audrey Yeung

The Brewers continued building their competitive core by signing Audrey Yeung, a skilled and versatile player who brings both finesse and competitive fire to the lineup. Joining Kyle Hermetz and Ava Kalist, Yeung gives the Brewers a well-rounded roster heading into the draft.

“Audrey fits perfectly into our culture,” said the Brewers’ front office. “Her work ethic and ability to compete at a high level made this an easy decision. We’re excited about what this group can accomplish.”

Detroit-Windsor Drive Lock In Stevie Petropouleas

The Drive made a statement by adding the CNPL’s youngest player Stevie Petropouleas to their roster, pairing her with re-signed players Evan Hollinsky and Lexi Debol. Petropouleas brings dynamic athleticism and court awareness that will be crucial as the Drive look to build on their playoff appearance and push deeper into the postseason. The Drive hope she brings the energy to the team that she used to capture back to back junior gold at the Pickleball World Cup and her first CNPL title at the Championship in October.

“Stevie is exactly the type of player we need,” said the Drive’s coaching staff. “She competes hard, elevates her teammates, and has the skill to make an immediate impact. This is a big get for us.”

Prairie Pronghorns Sign Lucas Wong

The Pronghorns bolstered their roster by bringing in Lucas Wong, an explosive talent who adds strength and versatility to the team’s lineup. Alongside Antoaneta Toskova, Wong gives the Pronghorns a formidable foundation as they aim to bounce back and compete for a championship in C4.

“Lucas is a difference-maker,” said the Pronghorns’ organization. “His energy and skill level bring a new dimension to our team. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Five Teams Maxed Out Ahead of Draft

With these signings, five of the eight CNPL teams have now reached their maximum of three players under contract before the January 27 draft: the London Smash, Montreal Lions, Southwestern Ontario Brewers, Detroit-Windsor Drive, and Toronto United. Five of the seven teams with available free agent slots capitalized on the opportunity to add impact talent in the CNPL’s first free agency period.

As the league shifts focus to the draft, rosters are taking shape and the competition for C4 is heating up. The message is clear: every team is going all-in for the championship.

The stage is set. C4 is going to be explosive.
